Coppa Italy Final Will be My Last Match for Juventus, says Del Piero

Juventus said nothing has changed in terms of the possibility of extending his contract in Turin. The Old Lady had announced earlier this season that the 2011-12 season will be the last for players 37 years after 19 years of service with the club, and while there have been requests from fans asking to see the icons they are to remain.

"For now, the Coppa Italy final against Napoli on May 20 will be my last game for Juventus because my contract that will expire in June. But I prefer to think about the present.

"The love of his fans every day to me has shown remarkable thing. Then what would happen, would happen," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"[Referring to a 4-0 win over Novara], this is a good day so special and beautiful, and should not be confused with thinking about my future."

Del Piero then reflect on what it regarded as a symbol of Juve, while he also urged the Italian football authorities to take a lesson from the English league rules if they want to avoid a repeat of a bad incident last weekend at the Marassi, Genoa ultras forced to show his team players to take off socks them.

"Being a symbol of the club means so much to me. It means being responsible and I also have to be able to give a positive message both inside and outside the field," he continued.

"We - clubs, players and state law enforcement - must think about all the necessary steps forward [to eradicate the hooligan culture]. (Juventini Forever FP)
